Elisa Kit Vitamin B12PRINCIPLE OF THE ASSAYThis assay employs the direct competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for VB12 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells with biotin-conjugated VB12. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between VB12 (Standards or samples) and biotin-conjugated VB12 with the pre-coated VB12 antibody. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in opposite to the amount of VB12 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.DETECTION RANGE1.56 pg/ml-90 pg/ml.SENSITIVITYThe minimum detectable dose of human VB12 is typically less than 1.498 pg/ml.The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest human VB12 concentration that could be differentiated from zero.
